WINTER STORM WATCHES IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF THE AREA..
Thursday morning there will be a slight accumulation of SNOW and or SLEET over the Central and Western Piedmont of NC including the counties of Iredell and Rowan. This will be changing to a Cold Rain event later in the day and then another possible more serious Snow event on into Friday and Saturday.
This is a Great Radar Link for the Continental US
THE BARLOMETER HAS CONSULTED HIS FURRY FRIEND ROCKY THE FLYING SQUIRREL, AND THE FORECAST FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE IS AS FOLLOWS:
SNOW and SLEET will develop through the afternoon hours on Thursday and continue through the night and into Friday. Here in Mooresville and even in Charlotte there will be MEASUREABLE ACCUMULATIONS. The exact path of the upper level Low Pressure system that has yet to form will determine the snowfall amounts of this storm. The Low that is already on the Coast of Louisiana will move rapidly Northeastward and will set the stage for the upper level low to precipitate on us.
Remember it is the Georgia Storms that usually inflict the heaviest snowfalls on us!!!!!
The Barlometer Says to Watch where this Snow Falls First and then Track it.
If it is coming in from North Georgia we are in for a Big One!!!!
There are still several differing computer models and they are quite different from each other. Compare the National Weather Service Severe Weather Alert and WBTV.
